The Mighty Space Rangers started out as an attempt to put my nephews (Jesse and Noah) into a space adventure as the main characters. Their names were Captain Amazing and First Lieutenant Fantastik. It was also an exploration into a digital style with the main goal to be outrageous with space enemies called The Stinky Winkies and The Booger Woogers. It was also a story inspired by our attempts to make spaceships out of cardboard boxes and duct tape. The story was animated (with me doing the voiceover) and made into a DVD. After writing the story and animating the DVD movie, Jesse and Noah were inspired to create their own cardboard box and duct tape spaceship:
